Masterbatches are not new to the plastic industry. As traditional plastics take years to degrade, masterbatches are used to enhance the degradation of plastic products while providing enticing color the product. While there are many masterbatches used in the plastic industry, here are the most prominent ones.

White Masterbatches

White masterbatches are used to provide transparency and brightness in the final synthetic product and can be composed of 75% titanium dioxide. The titanium dioxide has a right average particle size, 0.19 to 0.22 micron, high refractive index, and opaqueness. The white masterbatches can be further categorized based on percentages of titanium dioxide in the composition.

Black Masterbatches

Black masterbatches, used as black pigments in various plastic applications, has a 50 % black component in its composition. It is used for its UV protection, jets, conductivity, etc. The preference for this masterbatch comes from its high surface areas, which increase with the decrease in particle sizes. Black masterbatches are used in injection molding, blow molding, monofilaments and HDPE pipes.

Colored Masterbatches

Color masterbatches manufacturers in India use masterbatches to color to the final plastic products along with lightfastness and thermal stability. Color masterbatches are available in 200 color shades. So clients can choose any color for their final product. Color masterbatches are used in blow molding of bottles, injection molding household items and insulation of cables.

Additive Masterbatches

Additive masterbatches come in different varieties, and each type has some select properties to improve the end plastic product. Additive masterbatches can prevent the product from UV rays. It also can be used to reduce the weight and resin consumption of the product.

UV Masterbatches

UV masterbatches are filled with UV stabilizer. These masterbatches prevent the degradation of plastic products. UV masterbatches are used in products that have to remain in open sunlight for a longer period. The products like plastic pipes, wires often use UV masterbatches to prevent discoloration, improve processing, gives strength to deal with any weather and stabilize the elongation and mechanical strength. UV masterbatches are used in LDPE /PP laminations, irrigation pipes, agriculture greenhouse films, outdoor articles like garden furniture, FIBC bags, molded cranes and drums.

Optical brightener Masterbatches

Optical brightener masterbatches impart white brightness to final plastic products without any blue tone. They can also be used to prevent the yellowish to end product. They can re-emit the blue light on the absorption of ultraviolet light. High concentrate brightener chemicals are used in these masterbatches. The uses of optical brightener masterbatches are in films and sheets, filaments, rotor moulding, and fibers.

Antioxidant Masterbatches

Antioxidants masterbatches are used to protect the polymers from degradation at high temperatures.These masterbatches protect the gloss and mechanical properties of the end plastic products. Overall this is used to enhance the life of plastic products. The use of these masterbatches are in pipes, films, cables, tapes, blow molded and injection molded items. Similarly, other masterbatches like silicon and slip master are used to get the different quality of features in final plastic products.
